Mountain View Missouri Is Located In Southern Missouri

Mountain View and Howell County are situated in the midst of an Ozark vacationland. Some of the best clear water fishing in the world can be found just minutes away in Jacks Fork River, Eleven Point River and the Current River. You'll find goggle-eye, bass and many other fresh water fish here. There's also great hunting for quail, white tailed deer and wild turkey.

Every year Mountain View plays host to a number of entertaining events. The crown jewel of local events is Pioneer Days, which pays tribute to the pioneer spirit that built the town and America. Another highly anticipated event is the Cowboy Poet Festival, which showcases the Missouri Cowboy Poets Association and includes an array of cowboy poetry, humor and western music.

Other yearly events include the Sweetheart Pancake Breakfast, the Radio/TV Auction, Music in the Park and Christmas in Mountain View.

Among the many local attractions are a number of historic mills. These include the Hodgson, Rockbridge, Dawt, Alley Spring and Zanoi Mills. Also of interest are Mark Twain National Forest, Grand Gulf State Park, Jam Up Cave, Ozark National Scenic
Riverways and Rocky Falls.

Mountain View is also the home of a very nice 18-hole public golf course.

The many area springs include the Alley, Big, Round, Falling and Greer springs. Just across the Arkansas state line is Mammoth Spring, which is said to be the largest spring in Arkansas and the 10th largest in the world!
